Open compatible Windows-only applications, handle occasional PC work or keep a separate Windows 11 desktop—without replacing the iPad you enjoy or buying another computer.
Jump-Desk gives an iPad user a separate, persistent Windows 11 Pro computer in the cloud. Windows runs remotely; Microsoft Windows App Mobile turns the iPad into its portable display and controls.
It is a strong fit for someone who prefers the iPad but occasionally reaches a hard Windows limit: one desktop-only application, a business workflow designed for a PC, a temporary project or a need to keep a familiar Windows environment available while travelling. Current Jump-Desk tiers include Windows 11 Pro, a 128 GB cloud drive and a choice of Hours, Months or Years.
Jump-Desk does not convert iPadOS into Windows and it is not universally better than a laptop. It needs a suitable internet connection, desktop software can feel better with a keyboard and pointer, and specialist peripherals or GPU-heavy work may require local hardware. Its advantage is focused: keep the lightweight device you already use and add a full compatible Windows desktop only where it creates value.

Three strong iPad use cases
Why add a Windows cloud PC to an iPad
The best fit is not every iPad owner. It is someone who likes working from an iPad but has a clear Windows requirement that does not justify carrying or maintaining another computer.
Open the application iPadOS cannot provide
Install a compatible desktop Windows application on a separate Windows 11 Pro computer while continuing to use iPad apps for everything else. This can suit a business, accounting, administration, development or specialist tool with no useful iPad version.
Check first: confirm the exact application supports Windows 11 and does not require a dedicated GPU, hardware dongle, specialist driver or unusually low latency.
Use Windows for the moments that actually require it
The Hours billing model is designed for occasional work. Start the Jump-Desk when a Windows task appears, return to the same persistent environment and stop it from the dashboard after the session.
This can be more proportionate than buying a Windows laptop that spends most of its life unused.
Carry an iPad, not a second computer
Windows compute, memory, applications and the current 128 GB drive stay in the cloud. The iPad supplies the display and interaction, while the remote desktop keeps its own persistent settings and files.
A keyboard and trackpad can make longer desktop sessions far more comfortable without changing the execution model.
The commercial case in one sentence: Jump-Desk lets an iPad remain the primary mobile device while a complete Windows environment is available for the smaller part of life or work that genuinely needs a PC.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Let the iPad remain your everyday device.
A remote desktop adds Windows access when an iPad or browser app is missing a required feature. Test input, file transfer and display readability with the exact task before committing to the workflow.

More than an app workaround
A full Windows desktop stays ready in the cloud
An iPad app, a website and a cloud PC solve different problems. Jump-Desk is for the point where the workflow needs desktop Windows itself.
What the iPad continues to do
Run iPadOS and the mobile applications you already prefer.
Display the remote desktop through Windows App Mobile.
Provide touch and any supported keyboard or pointer input.
Stay light, portable and independent from the Windows machine.
What Jump-Desk adds
A persistent Windows 11 Pro operating system.
Cloud compute, memory and the current 128 GB system drive.
Administrator access for compatible Windows applications.
The same Windows settings and files between sessions.
Choose the simpler option when it works: if a native iPad app or web application already supports the complete workflow, use it. Jump-Desk becomes attractive when that route stops short of the desktop Windows experience the task requires.
Illustrative workspace.
What using it feels like
The iPad is the window; Jump-Desk is the Windows PC
The experience is remote rather than emulated. That keeps Windows resources off the iPad, but makes network quality and input choices important.
Resume a familiar desktop
The Windows environment is persistent, so installed applications, settings and files remain on the Jump-Desk between sessions. It is a separate computer, not a fresh browser session.
Use the right input for the task
Touch can suit quick checks and simple interactions. A supported keyboard and trackpad or mouse are more natural for spreadsheets, long-form typing, development tools and interfaces designed for a PC.
Choose a nearby region
Jump-IT exposes 20 region choices. A geographically closer region will often reduce latency, although the actual result also depends on the local connection and internet route.
The practical result: a full remote Windows 11 desktop displayed on the iPad. This Jump-IT product image is shown completely without cropping.
Jump-Desk vs iPad apps, remote access and a laptop
Jump-Desk is most compelling when the user wants full Windows without owning a Windows computer. Other approaches remain stronger for simpler mobile tasks, existing hardware or offline work.

Best starting point
Hours
For one Windows-only application, an occasional task, travel or a temporary project. Usage is charged while the machine runs, and the displayed service fee preserves dedicated resources while it is stopped.
Important habit: stop the Jump-Desk from the dashboard after every session.
Months
For Windows that has become part of the regular week. Current tier definitions include up to 300 hours of uptime per month and automatic shutdown after three hours idle.
Compare the live total with expected Hours use.
Years
For a Windows desktop wanted throughout the year. Review the current live checkout terms, expected frequency and application lifespan before making the longer commitment.
A laptop may still be better when dedicated local hardware is essential.

Choose with the trade-offs visible
When Jump-Desk is not the best iPad solution
Offline Windows is essential
A cloud PC cannot work without a network connection. Use a physical Windows computer when flights, fieldwork or unreliable connectivity make offline access non-negotiable.
The workload needs a GPU or specialist hardware
Current Standard, Pro and Pro+ specifications do not list a dedicated GPU. Hardware dongles, specialist USB devices, low-level drivers and other peripherals need individual compatibility testing.
The network blocks RDP
The current connection requires outbound TCP 3389. Corporate, school, hotel or guest networks may restrict that traffic even when ordinary web browsing works.
Storage and deletion: current tiers provide a 128 GB drive and include 100 GB of data transfer. Export and back up files before deleting a Jump-Desk; Jump-IT support guidance states that deletion tears down the VM, disks, public IP and backups and cannot be reversed.

Related Jump-IT guides, use cases and comparisons
These destinations were checked on the live Jump-IT site while this page was prepared.
A Windows cloud PC is a Windows desktop that runs on remote infrastructure while the iPad provides the display and controls. Jump-Desk provisions a persistent Windows 11 Pro desktop and the iPad connects through Windows App Mobile.
Can an iPad run full Windows 11?
The iPad does not replace iPadOS with Windows. With Jump-Desk, the full Windows 11 Pro desktop runs on a remote cloud computer and is displayed on the iPad through Windows App Mobile.
Why use Jump-Desk instead of an iPad app or website?
Use Jump-Desk when the required workflow needs a compatible desktop Windows application or a persistent Windows environment that an iPad app or website cannot provide. If a good native iPad or web version already meets the need, that simpler option may be better.
Do I need a keyboard and mouse to use Windows on iPad?
Not for every task, because Windows App Mobile supports interaction from the iPad. A supported keyboard and trackpad or pointer are strongly recommended for text-heavy, spreadsheet, coding and other desktop-oriented workflows.
Can I install my own Windows applications on Jump-Desk?
Yes. Jump-Desk provides administrator access so compatible Windows 11 applications can be installed. Check requirements for a dedicated GPU, specialist hardware, drivers, storage and network access before buying.
Is Windows 11 Pro included with Jump-Desk?
Yes. The current Standard, Pro and Pro+ tier definitions include a Windows 11 Pro licence. Review the live configuration and checkout terms before purchase.
Can I use a Jump-Desk offline on iPad?
No. Jump-Desk is a remote cloud desktop and requires a suitable internet connection while Windows is being used. A physical Windows computer is more appropriate when offline access is essential.
Which Jump-Desk plan is best for occasional iPad use?
Hours is the natural starting point for occasional or project-based use because usage is charged while the machine runs, alongside the displayed service fee. Stop the Jump-Desk from the dashboard when finished and compare the live regional total with Months before deciding.
Is Jump-Desk suitable for Windows gaming or GPU-heavy iPad workflows?
Current Standard, Pro and Pro+ specifications do not list a dedicated GPU, so Jump-Desk should not be selected for GPU-dependent gaming, rendering or similar workloads. Check the exact application and hardware requirements before buying.
How does an iPad connect to Jump-Desk?
Install Windows App Mobile, start the Jump-Desk in the Jump-IT dashboard and wait for Running status. Select Connect, open the downloaded RDP file in Windows App Mobile and use the credentials displayed on the dashboard. The detailed iPad guide covers the complete setup.

CURRENT WORKFLOWS · SEPTEMBER 2026
An iPad workflow that goes beyond opening the desktop.
A useful trial should cover the complete job: open a real file, use the keyboard shortcuts you depend on, test the pointer, export the result and reconnect later. That is particularly relevant for reporting, desktop-only study tools and a client’s Windows application. Remote access gives you a Windows environment; it does not change a vendor’s licensing or peripheral requirements.
For a colleague working from an iPad, Jump-Teams provides their own account and an assigned desktop. Confirm Windows access before the first appointment, keep the client up to date and agree when to stop the desktop. The recordings above show the actual setup and connection controls.

Jump-Desk setup: desktop name, Windows username and location. Demonstration data.
Prepaid Hours: budget for both parts.
Eligible Hours desktops use prepaid funding. Compute charges apply while running, and the separate service charge continues while the desktop is retained. Stopping the desktop preserves its files and ends running compute charges; deleting it permanently removes the desktop. Review the wallet, current rates and funding permissions in Jump-IT before creating one.
For regular work, Months includes up to 300 hours of uptime per desktop each month. Review the current Years option when a longer commitment suits the requirement. Each desktop has its own plan, region and performance tier.
Create a separate Windows 11 Pro Jump-Desk for the application, occasional task or portable desktop that iPadOS cannot provide—without buying and carrying another computer.
An iPad does not have to mirror the team lead’s laptop
In the touchscreen MacBook Pro global-team example, the lead’s local performance work and colleagues’ Windows environments are separate. An iPad can be an appropriate supported access device for a focused role, with suitable input and a reliable connection. Test the required client features; macOS and iPadOS remain different platforms.
